Disregard anything you’ve seen in the ski and snowboard movies. You do not need to be an extreme professional athlete and you’re not jumping out of a helicopter. That being said, heli-skiing is a demanding physical activity. We strongly recommend that you prepare yourself well in advance of your holiday with a regular fitness routine that focuses on endurance with an emphasis on core and leg training. Hit the local ski hill if you can to warm up your ski legs.
We can gladly accommodate first-time heli-skiers, however, powder skiing and tree skiing experience is mandatory! While we do have runs equivalent to a blue run at your ski resort, those may not always be accessible during inclement weather.
It is strongly recommended that you are able to comfortably ski blue runs and have previously skied black diamond runs.
If you do not have a complete group, we will do our best to match you with other skiers of a similar skill level.
If you have any doubts about your skiing abilities, give us a call. It’s best to book as a group of 4 with friends of a similar skill level. Consider a private package to go at your own pace.
Refunds will not be given to guests that are unable to competently heli-ski due to lack of physical fitness, skill level, or experience.
If you cannot complete your day due to fitness level or ability, please be advised you may be returned to the lodge, staging area, or a fuel cache at your expense. This expense will vary and is based on current location within the tenure. If you become injured, evacuation costs are quite high so we strongly advise you purchase medical insurance with evacuation coverage.
The minimum age for all of our heli-ski programs is 12 and must meet the above ability guidelines.
Guests under the age of 19 (minors) must be accompanied by one legal guardian throughout the duration of their trip and must be booked as part of a group of 4. Guardian responsibility cannot be shared nor can a different guardian be appointed. If the guardian needs to stop heli-skiing at any time for any reason, the minor must accompany the guardian back to the lodge.
